Common Problems
Some lawns have issues
that cannot be solved by fertilisation and weed control alone.
Therefore we can also provide an extensive range of additional
treatments and solutions for these common problems.
Scarification - Lawns can become choked
with thatch - a layer of organic matter that lays on the top,
reducing the penetration of water and nutrients. Removal by scarification
improves your lawn condition and helps reduce moss.
Over seeding - Lawns thin out over
time and may need over seeding to improve density. We have an
extensive range of seed mixtures and will discuss with you the
most appropriate mixture for your lawn.
Aeration - The roots of your lawn
require oxygen, water and nutrients. Aeration improves the penetration
of these vital elements in the root zone. It also reduces thatch
and reduces soil compaction.
Top dressing - The application of
soil, sand and organic matter to the surface of the lawn improves
soil aeration, water movement into and through the soil and reduces
soils compaction tendency. It will also reduce thatch levels
and can be used to level and smooth lawns.
Disease and insect control - As a
result of rising temperature, domestic UK lawns are increasingly
being affected by lawn disease and pests such as leatherjackets.
We provide an extensive range of solutions and would be happy
to advise on your lawns specific needs throughout the year.
